The College of Visual Arts and Design has the 10th largest enrollment of any art and design school accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, and the second largest of any that awards doctorates.
This position is part of the senior Information Technology Services team within the College of Visual Arts and Design. The position is focused primarily on the Windows OS (desktops and servers). Previous experience and extensive knowledge of server, systems and information security management is required. Specifically: System Center Configuration Manager, Windows Server Update Services and McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and five years of related computing work experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Prior experience with specific systems, equipment and software may be specified as needed by department.
• Considerable knowledge of principles of computing and/or communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in distributed environments.
• Ability to supervise and train subordinates.
• Ability to operate computer keyboards and to install computer hardware.
• Ability to assimilate, retain and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
Experience with systems management of Windows desktops and servers in an Active Directory environment.
Experience with System Center Configuration Manager (Microsoft Endpoint Manager Configuration Manager) and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
Experience managing antivirus deployments, updates and reporting using McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator.
Experience managing Windows and Linux webservers and web applications.
Knowledge and understanding of information technology best practices, security and compliance standards.
Proficient in the use of powershell, vbscript and other scripting languages.
Excellent writing and verbal skills – this position has a considerable documentation requirement.
Required License / Registration / Certification
Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm. Occasional weekends and evenings.
