Job Description


Our team will be creating high-fidelity, closed-loop, whole body numerical models of the human cardiovascular system based on 4D cardiac imaging and hemodynamic data. These simulations will help improve our fundamental understanding of different types of coronary anomalies and other CHD, and potential interventions. 

Job Duties

  • Execute CFD and FSI models of the cardiac system
  • Create model surface geometries from 4D cardiac imaging data
  • Present and publish results in peer-reviewed journals and relevant scientific conferences
  • Work with clinical and technical team members to create research project plans and scientific objectives
  • Evaluate and analyze data
  • Develop research techniques and perform applications required for specific research projects
  • Conduct literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study
  • Document results of experiments and report to principal investigators
  • Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of data for projects and research grants
  • Develop statistical programs for data manipulation and implementation of standard and advanced statistical methodology
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by faculty including protocol reviews, statistical report generation, manuscript preparation, review of statistical literature, and upgrade of computer programming software
  • Assist and train users on computer programs

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a  related field.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Should be proficient in coding using relevant programming languages (C, C++, Matlab)
  • Experience in fluid and solid mechanics modeling (CFD/FSI)
  • Experience in computer-aided design and associated software (Solidworks, etc.)
  • A plus ifhave expertise in creating meshes from medical imaging data
  • Expertise with utilizing distributed computing environments
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills and be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and as a member of the project team
