Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
This position is responsible for leading the technical development and enhancement of custom applications and reports to meet the customers’ needs. In addition, this role may be responsible for leading the development and enhancement of interfaces for third-party applications and for supporting other commercially-developed applications and UTHSC’s Student Information System, Ellucian’s Banner.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides support, develop applications for new projects, and utilize functionality within the tools we support to aid in making the campus units more product.
Integrates various third-party software packages with existing campus software.
Remains abreast of the newest technologies and how they may be able to benefit the University.
Provides campus users with systems analysis, design, development, implementation and support of the systems development life cycle, and software application development using: PHP, SQL or PL/SQL.
Collaborates in creating technical requirements, and determining development tools needed, and how best to code the solution.
Works with the Banner Team to develop detailed test plans
Collaborates work with the project team to develop user testing to ensure requirements have been met and user acceptance is obtained.
Communicates with customers to determine requirements on trouble tickets and reporting requests, and to convey progress on changes.
Works team members to coordinate task completion and to design, develop and test applications.
Mentors other members of the Banner Team on project/task requirements.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of directly related experience in designing, writing, implementing and supporting applications as a developer. Ellucian Banner experience a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Programming skills in a high-level language,
Knowledge of Oracle relational databases.
Ability to work independently towards a defined goal.
