Summary
The Ming Zhou Lab is seeking a Student Helper to assist the lab part-time under close supervision of PI or Senior Associate. The lab's research is in structure determination and functional characterization of membrane-embedded enzymes and transport proteins that are involved in lipid metabolism and validated drug targets for treatment of metabolic diseases and cancers.
Job Duties
- Helps with general lab maintenance and routine procedures:
- Buffer and media presentations.
- Protein expression.
- Purification.
- Provides office administrative support.
- Provides research administrative or technical support.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School or College Student (undergraduate or graduate).
- No experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in PCR-based mutagenesis:
- Eukaryotic protein expression in the insect cell expression system.
- Membrane protein purification.
- Knowledge in structure determination of membrane proteins by cryo-electron microscopy.
