Job Description

The Benton Neuropsychology Lab in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Neurology is seeking a Clinical/Technical Specialist to assist with assessment of patients using clinical neuropsychological tests of cognition and behavior; assist with acquisition and organization of data regarding the cognitive and behavioral function of brain-injured persons; and communicate detailed patient information with other members of the Neurology team.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Administer and score neuropsychological tests under the supervision of staff neuropsychologists. Prepare summaries of test results.
Obtain library reprints and articles, maintaining reference files as needed.
Perform coding and transfer of information into computerized database. Manage and scan in all clinic files into database.
Organize patient charts, maintain patient log, collect and summarize test results, and maintain patient data files, using standard psychological protocols and procedures.
Determine appropriate billing level and process patient charges.
Maintain inventory of neuropsychological test forms, booklets, and other supplies; order supplies as needed or requested; restock examination rooms on a regular basis.
Triage consults to help our clinic run effectively.
Prepare raw data and summary of test scores for outside Doctors
Assist with research projects when available and as needed by providers, graduate students, ad special requests

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in psychology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to apply knowledge in relationships with brain-injured persons.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be proficient in computer software applications.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with neuropsychological and neurological data is desired.
Previous experience working with elderly medical patients is desired.
Some knowledge of the University of Iowa policies, procedures and regulations is desired.
Bilingual in Spanish or proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish
