College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provides about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices. MCG and its teaching hospitals also provide postgraduate education to more than 500 residents and fellows in 50 different Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-approved programs. Our researchers and clinicians focus on what most impacts the health of Georgia's and America's children and adults, including cardiovascular biology and disease, cancer, neurosciences and behavioral sciences, public and preventive health, regenerative and reparative medicine, personalized medicine, and genomics. Our physician faculty also share their expertise with physicians and patients at about 100 clinics and hospitals statewide.

Job Summary
This position will complete Psychosocial Assessments, prepare treatment plans, document individual progress through session interviews with individual and family members, and review individuals' records. This position will act as an advocate for the individual by coordinating needed services, act as a liaison for the individual, present cases in court settings. To include Court testimony (Civil and outpatient commitments), discharge planning, and case management. This position will coordinate with staff in the development, implementation, and evaluation of individual treatment plan.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

Treatment Planning: 80%
Completion of Psychosocial Assessments to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. Documents, monitors, evaluates, and records clients progress through interviews, interactions, and review of records. Provides supportive counseling, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention to individuals and families as directed by the treatment plan. Discharge planning and case management services. Completes documentation for referrals to appropriate community services.

Community: 10%
Court Testimony on civil and outpatient commitments. Case presentations and case formulations. Participation in the Hospital Review Committee. Participate in community collaborative weekly liaison calls.
Reports, Meetings and Trainings: 5%
Prepares reports for Social Work Chief. Attend Social Work staff meetings. Maintain Hospital Required Trainings.

Other Duties as Assigned 5%

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work from a graduate school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education (CSWE) . WITH Licensure eligibility and a minimum of two years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Disabilities.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Knowledge of the mental health delivery system in Georgia and understanding of DSM V, ability to perform Crisis Intervention techniques and Group Therapy techniques, skilled in a variety of therapeutic models and interventions as directly related to area of assignment.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days Mon-Fri. *Work outside of normal business hours may be required.*
Pay Grade: 16
Salary Minimum: $41,846- Midpoint: $56,492
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
