Responsibilities
• Support Clinical Research Coordinators (CRC) in conduct of clinical research activities.
• Prep for research visits by gathering all relevant documents and supplies.
• Prepare and maintain patient examination rooms and prepare patients for physical/medical/research exams.
• Assist clinician investigators in the examination process.
• Obtain vital signs, reconcile medications, record adverse events, perform EKGs as specified in research protocol.
• Administer patient questionnaires, both paper and electronic.
• Prepare and administer medications, injections, or treatments.
• Draw blood and obtain and prepare other specimens for lab tests as directed by the protocol and the study investigator.
• Maintain patient and research records and adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
• Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
• Coordinate with external medical facilities.
• Assists with approved research subject recruitment, retention and communication including conducting telephone screens and participating in research marketing activities such as health fairs.
• Schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and complete paperwork.
• Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
• Input patient/participant data into research databases.


Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED and 1 year of relevant experience or combination of education and experience.• Skilled phlebotomist Must demonstrate strong organizational skills. Experience with data entry, managing patient files and records, and medical terminology. Must be detail oriented, flexible, adaptive, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to deal professionally with diverse personalities and cultures in stressful and difficult situations. Ability to work under strict deadlines, maintain confidential information and keep up-to-date technically. Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently and as a team player.
