Job Description

Summary

The Echeverria laboratory studies molecular evolution of triple negative breast cancer (TNBC) therapy resistance and metastasis. The focus of the lab is to delineate the metabolic and molecular evolution of TNBC using state-of-the art patient-derived xenograft mouse models and in vitro mouse and patient-derived organoids. The lab utilizes functional genomics approaches, single-cell technologies, multiplexed tissue imaging, and metabolomics with the goal of combating tumor evolution to improve the lives of women living with TNBC. The lab is seeking a highly self-motivated individuals to provide research support, technical assistance, and lab organization. The laboratory’s work involves cell lines and state-of-the-art mouse models. Projects include dissection of the molecular underpinning's tumor cell-microenvironment interactions as they pertain to therapy resistance and metabolic adaptations of therapy-resistant tumor cells, as well as single cell analyses of primary and metastatic TNBCs. The lab provides an interactive and stimulating scientific environment and opportunities for growth. 

Job Duties

  • Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data
  • Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
  • Documents results of experiments.
  • Selects, evaluates, and applies techniques used in routine research.
  • Orders laboratory supplies.
  • Completes Goods Receipt via SRM/SAP.
  • Develops and modifies computer programs.
  • Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
  • Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment, inventory, and environment.
  • Contributes to ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in cancer research is a plus. 
  • Be a team-player and work well within a group. 
  • Be self-motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented, communicative, and collaborative.
