Position Description

The department of Undergraduate Programs in the Norm Brodsky College of Business seeks an Administrative Associate to provide, under limited direction, advanced administrative support to assigned staff or faculty members contributing to the operating efficiency of the work area. Individual will: operate independently in prioritizing own workload and in determining how best to accomplish work objectives; participate in special projects, as required; maintain supply of pertinent forms used; assign faculty advisors to each student according to major; assist students with making appointments with their advisors twice annually; prepare, maintain and update confidential student files; and maintain general knowledge of all undergraduate CBA requirements and activities in order to provide assistance to students and faculty.

Position Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent required with 2-4 years of demonstrated related work experience preferred.  Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Working knowledge of standard office equipment is required. Demonstrated computer proficiency is required with an emphasis on Word, spreadsheet, and data management skills.  Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills and the ability to operate independently, prioritize and organize own work schedule, multi-task, and meet established deadlines.  Demonstrated excellent recordkeeping, and organization skills required.  Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a part of a team.     Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels in an academic environment including faculty, staff, parents, students, potential students, potential parents, etc. 

Position Preferred Qualifications/Experience

Proficient spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition skills. Ability to perform under pressure. Knowledge of University policy and procedure is helpful.
