Job Description Summary:
A Research Assistant position is immediately available for highly motivated individual.
Applicant must have a Bachelor of Science in biology/biochemistry degree (or higher), experience in molecular cell biology, including molecular cloning, cell culture and enzyme biochemical assays, and should be available for in-person interviews.

The Research Assistant position in Dr. Ni’s lab will conduct research to study the mechanisms and regulate lipid metabolism. The Research Assistant will work on a variety of research projects including but not limited to animal handling, partial hepatectomy, mouse gavage, mouse liver perfusion and tail vein injection
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in biology/biochemistry, or other science related field
Previous experience in molecular cell biology, including molecular cloning, cell culture and enzyme biochemical assays.
Previous experience with animal handling.
Strong communications skills, including experience writing and orating with a scientific audience, as evidenced by application materials and interview.
Preferred Qualifications:

Master of Science degree in biology or other science related field.
Experience studying the mechanisms and regulate lipid metabolism.
Previous experience working as part of team.
Previous experience in partial hepatectomy, mouse gavage, mouse liver perfusion and tail vein injection is preferred.
Job Duties Outlined:

Perform general research experiments under the direction of the PI, including but not limited to:
Genotyping and mouse experiments
Biochemical and protein assays
Histology analysis
Maintain mouse colony, animal breeding and genotyping.
Maintain the lab supply.
Participate in regular communication with the PIs via lab meetings and personal meetings.
Position also includes generation of data and its analysis for the preparation of published papers, as well as assistance on grant submissions and other documentation necessary for laboratory compliance.
Follow established quality control and quality assurance policies and procedures, including appropriate documentation.
