Job Description:

*** Saturday & Sunday 3PM-11:30PM; Monday morning availability a plus***

The Enterprise Switchboard Operator contributes to the integrated hospital network by assuming responsibility for incoming and outbound calls as well as all paging functions, emergency codes, registration functions, and other key responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Answers all calls in accordance with departmental policy, appropriately triages and routes calls as requested and is competent in the use of all equipment associated with the duties of the switchboard operator.
  • Monitor and respond to emergency codes adhering to hospital policy and procedure for each code as specified.
  • Accurate and timely registration of patient accounts in AMPFM as required.
  • Maintain hospital directories including Cisco Call Manager, Intranet, Bridge Operating System, and InfoRad Paging System as required.
  • Maintains monthly on-call schedules (including updates) and is competent in all procedures related to contacting the on call/emergency personnel for the various departments.
  • Connects with every caller demonstrating the spirit of Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s values and standards through actions and speech.
  • Additional responsibilities may include:
    • Fax distribution
    • Mail distribution
    • Monitoring emergency panels
    • Opening Charts
    • Taking messages for the department

Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • High School/GED Graduate with 2 years clerical/office support experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Good telephone manners and strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • Basic typing/keyboard skills, familiarity with varied office equipment
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be efficient, punctual, and reliable
  • Strong initiative and judgement
  • Strong follow-up and follow-through skills
  • Strong organization/time management skills
  • Experience working with Bridge Operator System, a plus
  • Ability to build professional relationships with cross-functional teams while facilitating a collaborative environment
  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment

Pay Range

$17.00 - $21.90

Placement within the identified pay range is based on individual and market factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, credentials (including licenses and certifications), geographic location, market competition, skill set (including market availability of required skills), assigned/anticipated job tasks, and level of responsibility. These factors are considered without regard to an individual’s status as a member of any protect group pursuant to federal, state, and/or local law.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $21.90 / hour
