Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. Enrollment-eligible to a graduate program within the university and prior athletically-related work experience within a collegiate football program.

Position Description:

The Football Analyst Temp will be responsible for assisting the University of Louisville Football program coaching staff with breaking down film of opponents and team in order to target strengths and weaknesses, helping to identify prospective student-athletes from assigned areas. This position will be working through spring and summer, reporting to the Chief of Staff for Football.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Breakdown and analysis all offensive, defensive and special teams coaching strategies of opponent and team.
  • Evaluate athletes' skills and review performance records to determine strengths and weakness of that week’s opponent.
  • Plan and develop encouragement and motivation for student-athletes for each week’s game. 
  • Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of University of Louisville assigned areas and provide weekly reports to assigned coaches.
  • Assist in planning coaching and practice sessions in accordance with NCAA regulations.
  • Counsel assigned student athletes on academic, athletic, and personal issues.
  • Identify and potential athletes by evaluating possible recruits in assigned area and get information to proper coaches.
  • File scouting reports that detail player assessments and provide recommendations on athlete recruitment.
  • Monitor the academic eligibility of prospective student athletes, and ensure the academic integrity of the institution is maintained in the acceptance of recruited athletes. 
  • Emphasize, support and monitor the educational activities of the student-athletes so to help ensure that student-athletes’ progress toward a degree in a defined academic program.
  • Maintain effective relationships with student-athletes, peers, administrators, faculty, media representatives, and the general public; Work to integrate sports into the whole spectrum of academic life to complement the University and its mission in the community.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss recruiting efforts based upon position need, academic eligibility, and character integrity of prospective athletes.
  • Complete weekly teams reports and breakdowns for assigned coaches.
  • As members of the Athletics Department, all analyst interns must adhere to all policies and regulations and carry out any other duties that the Director of Athletics or head coach designates
  • Keep abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to NCAA Rule changes concerning Football and recruiting
