Position Opening for Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
10-month tenure track position in the Educational Leadership, Evaluation, & Organizational Development Department at the University of Louisville

The Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation, & Organizational Development (LEAD) seeks to hire an individual for a 10-month, tenure-track assistant professor in evaluation with an emphasis in research methodology. Particular areas of methodological expertise include quantitative, qualitative, action research, or mixed methods. Previous experience with community-based research and/or program evaluation is desired. The successful candidate should also have an established record and interest in research, teaching, and service that advances equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in education and human development. We seek a candidate with a strong background in research methodology with a research agenda with the potential to pursue external funding. The successful candidate should be committed to excellence inside and outside the classroom in terms of student mentoring, as well as supporting the growth and quality of the Evaluation program (see our program listing at https://louisville.edu/education/departments/eleod).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will engage in research, teaching, and service activities aligned with promoting the university’s mission to achieve preeminence as a nationally recognized metropolitan research university.

Required Qualifications:

1. Doctoral degree in methodology or a field relevant to the Department: Evaluation, Higher Education Administration, P-12 Education, or Human Resource & Organizational Development.

2. Extensive training and expertise in quantitative, qualitative, action research, and/or mixed methods.

3. Demonstrated active research agenda that promotes scholarship, creative activity, as well as evidence of (or potential for) external funding, commensurate with rank and experience.

4. Demonstrated commitment to issues of diversity, social justice, equity, and inclusion, and students from diverse communities and backgrounds.

5. Demonstrated experience teaching in diverse modalities (online, face-to-face) and ability to develop and deliver high-quality graduate-level courses.

6. Ability to work in a productive and positive collaborative environment with colleagues and community stakeholders.

7. Interest and ability to be an excellent supervisor and mentor to student-scholars at graduate and doctoral levels, demonstrating a commitment to their academic and professional growth.

8. Commitment to the growth and quality of LEAD’s Evaluation program.

The program is part of the Department of Educational Leadership, Evaluation, and Organizational Development, which includes over 25 clinical and tenure-track faculty members and offers an array of programs in Educational Leadership, Higher Education Administration, Career and Technical Education, Healthcare Leadership, Human Resources & Organizational Development, Program Evaluation, and Organizational Leadership & Learning. Our program has extensive engagement with community and industry partners such as the U.S. Army, General Electric, and UPS, among many others.

SALARY: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience.

APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 10-month tenure-track assistant (tenured) professor.
