Job Overview
The School of Education at the University of Cincinnati is seeking to fill two Assistant Professor - Educator faculty positions which will begin during the 2024-2025 academic year. Specifically, these positions will support the preschool through 8th grade educator preparation program through teaching, supervision, and service in the Elementary Education (ELEM) program and the School of Education. In addition, this role at the University of Cincinnati is expected to teach and conduct research, scholarly and other professional or creative activities. This position will support the University of Cincinnati's mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all of our activities.

Primary responsibilities will be to teach undergraduate courses in the ELEM program consistent with program needs for expertise in the areas of early literacy methods, science methods, and/or social studies methods. Responsibilities also include contributing to program needs in the areas; of general content, classroom management, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and/or field supervision. Candidates will assist with program service in support of program functions.

Essential Functions
Carry a course load equivalent of 4 courses per semester, fall and spring (may include a combination of teaching and field supervision).
Teach undergraduate level courses in ELEM related to early literacy methods; classroom management; diversity, equity, and inclusion; science methods; social studies methods; and/or various other content and general method consistent with candidate expertise and program needs.
Participate in program service including; program meetings, accreditation planning, program needs for data collection and management, and program improvement and development work.
Work collaboratively with faculty and schools/districts in support of program needs.
Serve on college or university committees and participate in curriculum development activities.
Contribute service to School of Education consistent with unit workload expectations.

Fulfill other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Earned master's degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g., elementary education, disciplinary education related literacy, science, or social studies, curriculum and instruction or a related discipline).
Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a preschool-8th grade classroom
Demonstrated capacity for contribution to the service expectations (e.g., documented service contributions in other positions).
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in PK-8 education.
Knowledge of and experience with current best practices in instructional strategies/methods in P-8 education consistent with the ELEM program curriculum and State of Ohio Teaching Standards.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Experience teaching upper elementary or middle grades
Demonstrated success teaching in higher education.
Experience supporting teacher candidates with technology and ed TPA
Contributions to program and course development and design, including on-line instruction and use of instructional technologies.
Experience teaching and/or supervising preservice teacher candidates in higher education.
Experience with Canvas, TK20/SLL and computer skills.
Experience with data collection, entry and analysis.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience teaching in diverse settings with mixed abilities.
Knowledge of anti-bias teaching strategies and pedagogies.
