Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Three (3) years of full-time accounting and/or finance related experience. Experience with creating and reconciling financial reports.

Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience in a financial ERP (enterprise resource planning) or DBMS (database management system). PeopleSoft/Oracle Financial ERP experience. Experience in Higher Education. Query and/or data mining experience. Advanced proficiency levels in MS Excel and/or MS Access.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will be a key resource for stakeholders of Stony Brook University and Stony Brook Foundation (SBF) and is responsible for supporting the Financial ERP system and other system related issues. The selected candidate will oversee the systems utilized within SBF. Coordinating with SBF leadership, they will manage new implementations and research and identify opportunities to create efficiencies and increase effectiveness of SBF processes. They will coordinate activities between Accounting and SBF business office to ensure support, projects, troubleshooting are met on a timely basis. The incumbent is also responsible for maintaining role-level based security for the Financial ERP system, as well as support for other SBF utilized systems such as JP Morgan Concourse, SAP Concur, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Stafford, OnBase, and NVision for SBF staff. They will provide support and guidance for SBU Reporting for SBF. The incumbent will also be a pivotal team member as the university embarks on a new-ERP implementation.


Provide support to the Stony Brook Foundation for current Financial & Student Financials ERP systems (PeopleSoft), Concur, Concourse, Microsoft 365, OnBase, and NVision. This involves development of new enhancements, resolutions of bugs and fixes, system support and guidance providing solutions to the business office and account holders particular business information needs. Work with both external and internal stakeholders and IT with new tools upgrades and PUM updates ensuring proper testing plan and resolutions. Administer shared documents and folders across functional areas within SBF.
Integral team-member in leading financial migration to Oracle Cloud Financials for Stony Brook Foundation. Compiling current-state and working with SBU team-members and consultants to develop enhanced desired states of operation. Researches and presents new methodologies, systems and processes to improve operational effectiveness of the business. Acts as the relationship manager with SBF systems vendors, coordinating needs on behalf of the organization. Document processes, problems, and solutions to train and support on how to properly address business needs related to SBF systems.
Monthly reconciliation of SBF financial data to the data warehouse. Analyze, review, and resolve data discrepancies. Leverage quantitative skills to derive answers to business officers’ ongoing business analytics and reporting questions.
Security Custodian for PeopleSoft Financials/ Oracle Financials as it relates to SBF. Includes granting/removing role level security, creation of new User Accounts, periodic audit reviews of existing role security ensuring compliance and best practices. Custodian for SBU Reporting for SBF. Provide support for SBF campus account holders in granting/removing
access to SBU Reporting, troubleshooting issues, and guidance.
Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
