Pharmacy Resident Year 1

The resident pharmacist, a licensed professional who collaborates closely with directors and managers to oversee the day-to-day operations of a department or unit, maintaining a 24/7 presence during training. Their primary focus is on ensuring the optimal delivery of pharmaceutical care and services, while also contributing to performance improvement initiatives through direct involvement or occasional participation in quality improvement teams. Training encompasses supervision of human and material resources, program planning, and evaluation, as well as providing input and adhering to budgetary targets. In this role, they supervise, assign work, coach, train, and evaluate the performance of other team members. Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to facilitate frequent team-building interactions are essential for success in this position, fostering collaboration among peers, subordinates, and supervisors.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Ensures that he or she provides services that are accurate, reliable, courteous and timely.
  • Supports the efforts of all care providers to deliver quality care.
  • Demonstrates competence appropriate to their role and function in age-specific care.
  • Promotes the delivery of quality care consistent with the scope of practice of the discipline.
  • Provides and promotes professional practice standards through education and teaching.
  • Supports care for a defined group of patients using effective delegation, supervision and decision-making skills.
  • Adhere to all professional and regulatory standards.
  • Promotes collaboration and teamwork among all members of the healthcare team.
  • Effectively communicates/educates all customers to meet organizational goals and customer service expectations.
  • Maintains current knowledge, skills and competencies through involvement in professional continuing education activities.

Your qualifications should include:

Minimum Education:

  • Experience may substitute for education.

Minimum Experience:

  • Currently enrolled, or successfully completed, a School of Pharmacy within the United States.

Req. Certification/Licensure:

  • CPR certification or receive one within 9 months of hire date.
  • Current CA Pharmacy License or must obtain within 3 months after start date; extension to a total of 6 months may be granted upon approval of
  • Program Director and Human Resources.
