Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: 

 

The Financial Coordinator is responsible for implementing the financial and non-financial obligations of license agreements to include fee invoicing, revenue distributions and report requests. In addition, the Financial Coordinator will pay and track departmental expenses and prepare financial reports for leadership.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Verify and implement license agreement terms to include financial and reporting obligations: New license set-up, license fee & expense invoicing, request progress
    reports, forecast license revenue.

  • Monitor receivables, process incoming payments and prepare revenue distributions per Moffitt IP policies: Prepare monthly A/R report, collections, maintain deposit summary spreadsheet, process revenue distributions.

  • Track and arrange payment of departmental expenses through Moffitt's accounting and purchase order systems: Payment of non-legal invoices, purchase orders, monthly reconciliation.

  • Prepare quarterly & semiannual financial reports; gather data for dashboards and surveys: Royalty reports, business unit metrics, AUTM survey. 

  • Special projects & duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance required, Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Five (5) years of functional accounting and/or finance experience.

    • With Bachelor's degree, three (3) years of functional accounting and/or finance experience is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs to include, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments within an estimated time frame.

  • Strong attention to details.

  • Good organizational skills.
