We have an exciting opportunity to join our Physician Recruitment team, based at our Duarte, California location. This is a hybrid remote role.

Position Summary:

The Senior Physician Recruiter is responsible for the physician recruitment process at the City of Hope. Performs full-cycle physician recruitment for academic departments by defining sourcing strategy, generating qualified candidates, assessing cultural and role fit, and by preparing and negotiating physician offers and contracts in partnership with department chairs, and executive and physician leadership. In addition, the Senior Physician Recruiter assists in the development of strategic and comprehensive physician recruitment plans in accordance with the needs and goals of the organization. The Senior Physician Recruiter evaluates and develops improvements to the recruitment processes. This position will have significant interaction with the Vice President of Professional Services, Department Chairs and Chiefs, the President of the City of Hope Medical Center, and the President of the City of Hope Medical Group.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Management of physician recruitment for assigned academic departments. Work with department chairs and leadership to develop and carry out effective recruitment and sourcing strategies and campaigns for recruitment of physicians in a variety of specialties. Incorporate strategies and plans to attract candidates and source from diverse backgrounds.
  • Identify and evaluate trends in healthcare recruitment, including location and economic conditions. Develop innovative strategic plans to respond to competitive challenges in the marketplace and adapt sourcing strategies.
  • Manage the recruitment process and maintain open and responsive communication with candidates, hiring managers, physician leadership, administration, and recruitment-related agencies.
    • Conduct telephone-screening interviews
    • Coordinate candidate virtual and in-person interviews including itinerary building, travel, lodging, transportation, and facilitating onsite visits and interviews
    • Facilitate the collection of feedback from candidate interviewers and distribute results
    • Facilitate the candidate assessment process and debrief meetings with hiring managers
    • Conduct professional reference checks on candidates
  • Participate in the candidate offer process.
    • Work with department and Finance to define terms and request business cases
    • Prepare and process physician contracts for approval, and present offers
    • Work closely with the Legal department on all technical questions related to employment agreements, contractual obligations, etc.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Human Resources or equivalent education and experience preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of physician recruitment for hospitals and/or health systems, or minimum of 1 year with CPRP fellowship completion.
  • Minimum of 4 years of recruitment in an academic health care environment, preferably working with senior leadership and/or physician leadership.

Preferred Certification/Licensure:

  • Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP)
  • Working with senior leadership and/or physician leadership.

    Salary / Pay Rate Information:
    Pay Rate: $40.70 - $63.08 / hour

    The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
