Position Description:

The School of Public Health and Information Sciences invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL)/Adjunct teaching positions in various Health Management topics to begin Spring 2024.  Review of applications will begin upon receipt and continue until the positions are filled.  PTLs will be hired to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Health Management and Systems Sciences Department on an ad hoc basis, but primarily in the CAHME-accredited Masters of Science in Health Administration (MSHA) program offered in both evening track and online track modalities. Online MSHA track courses are offered in 8-week mini-term formats while the rest of course teaching assignments follow a traditional Fall, Spring, Summer term period. Teaching areas of emphasis include the following subject areas:

  • Healthcare quantitative analysis for business decision making
  • Healthcare project management
  • Healthcare quality and operations management
  • Healthcare strategic management
  • Healthcare leadership development
  • Healthcare law and ethics
  • Healthcare marketing
  • Healthcare finance, accounting, economics
  • Healthcare insurance and alternative payment models

Teaching assignments will vary by course and program level (undergraduate, masters, doctorate) and program modality (in person on Belknap or Health Science Center campus or online, asynchronous) and successful candidates can choose to participate exclusively in either in person\on campus teaching or online.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or doctoral degree in health administration, management or a closely related field from a regionally-accredited university and program associated with CEPH, CAHME, and/or AACSB accreditation plus a record of success teaching courses at the university level is highly desired.  Candidates with a CAHME-accredited healthcare management degree (MSHA, MHA, etc.), M.B.A., and/or a master's degree(s) in a closely related field plus healthcare management board-certification (e.g. FACHE) and a minimum of five years relevant work experience will also be considered.
