The University of Louisville, Department of Radiology, Mammography Section, is seeking an academic radiologist for its Breast Imaging Section. The position is for an experienced breast imager. This is a position at an outstanding teaching hospital. Leadership opportunities are available to qualified candidates. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The Breast Imaging Center which is located at the James Graham Brown Cancer Center has been recognized by the American College of Radiology as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence.We perform a total of approximately 12,000 breast imaging studies and interventional procedures each year.
Job Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties and Training of Diagnostic Radiology Residents. We provide a full spectrum of breast Imaging services at University of Louisville Hospital, UofL Health – Jewish Hospital, and the Robley Rex V.A. Medical Center.
Clinical responsibilities include all aspects of multi-modality breast imaging (digital mammography and tomosynthesis, breast US, breast MRI) and all imaging guided interventional breast procedures
Conference Participation:Multidisciplinary tumor boards and trauma conferences, resident case and core didactic lecture conferences; medical school lectures. Research: While optional, if interested, the desired candidate will have strong research record of publications or other evidence of scholarly activity.
Required Qualifications:
Medical Degree or equivalent, eligibility for Kentucky Medical License, and ABR certified or eligible.
Applicants should be proficient in screening and diagnostic mammography (including tomosynthesis), ultrasound, MRI and US, stereotactic and MRI guided biopsies. Preferred candidates will have fellowship training in one or more additional subspecialties.
