Certified Medical Assistant

The successful candidate:

Hours: Mon - Fri 7:30am - 4:00pm

The Certified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent is a key employee in a multifaceted role that facilitates the smooth flow of the patients through the clinic. The CMA/RMA performs delegated patient care tasks for an assigned patient population. The CMA will have administrative responsibilities include triage phone calls; provide clerical support between patients, caregivers, physicians, care managers and clinical service departments with routine clerical and administrative tasks; document coordination; and ordering supplies.

Requirements:

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or relevant and applicable certification.

  • One year within the last three years in a comparable job classification. Relevant specialty experience;

  • Minimum of three years medical assistant or nursing assistant experience in a hospital or clinic setting.

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program

  • OR

  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT) or other national certification/registration programs;

  • OR

  • Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.

  • Completion of relevant and applicable clinical program

  • CertificationAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.20 - $26.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
