Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
This position provides direct management of the business functions of the David C. Driskell Center for the Study of African American Art and The Art Gallery, including budget, financial, and personnel services. Duties include budget reconciliation, payroll, travel, purchasing/procurement, and other financial and personnel elements. The position serves as a financial and administrative advisor to the head of each unit and will be responsible for overseeing their day-to-day business activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a business-related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:
Four years of experience in budgeting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, and personnel, preferably in higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated understanding of and commitment to “customer” service within the UMCP setting are required.
Experience and knowledge in procurement, travel, accounting, budgeting and financial procedures and systems.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, time management abilities, and communication skills (both oral and written).
Ability to interpret and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, institutional and state guidelines and procedures.
Ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities and provide excellent outcomes within the required time frame.
The ability to follow up and follow through on assigned and delegated tasks is essential.
Preferences:
Preferences:
Experience using University of Maryland College Park business systems, including KFS, PHR, BPM, Priority/BA’s, TCMS, and PCMS.
Experience managing Financial information and services in an academic /higher education setting.
Experience managing foundation accounts.
Experience in arts-related departments, units, or organizations.
Experience managing the delivery of procurement and travel services.

Additional Information:
Salary: $68,000 – $75,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Candidates must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship is offered for this position.

This is an in-person position. Telework may be available up to two (2) days per week, subject to approval.
