Coastal Carolina University invites applications for the Academic Technology Specialist position within the Office of Academic Technology, a division of the Provost Office.

This position strategizes and executes marketing initiatives to raise awareness and promotes the services, events, and advancements offered by the Office of Academic Technology, effectively engaging faculty, staff, and students across the campus community through various channels and campaigns.

This position may include some evening and weekend hours beyond normal work hours, as well as service during the start-up period of each semester and campus closures due to academic continuity.

Curriculum Coordinator II (CA20/61122953/PCLS202400125), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 06. Salary range: $46,655.00 (minimum) - $66,488.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Provides instructional and technical support to both faculty and students related to the LMS (Moodle) and other third-party tools as needed.

2. Coordinates and leads faculty training workshops on academic technologies, while also providing consultation to faculty members to design and develop engaging online courses through the strategic integration of relevant instructional technologies.

3. Serves as the back-up person to the digital learning systems administrator.

4. Develops and continuously updates LibGuides, user guides, how-to documents, videos, and other training and support materials, while researching new technologies to enhance digital learning across the CCU campus.

5. Strategizes and executes marketing initiatives to raise awareness and promotes the services, events, and advancements offered by the Office of Academic Technology, effectively engaging faculty, staff, and students across the campus community through various channels and campaigns.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, educational technology, information management systems, computer technology or related field. Experience in curriculum development to enhance the learning experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with learning management systems and other third-party tools. Experience supporting help-desk level callers at the faculty level is strongly preferred. Experience developing documentation or technical reports for both print and electronic distribution is preferred. Experience teaching in the higher education, K12, or professional development areas is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Familiarity with third-party educational technology tools, such as online proctoring, textbook publishers, digital accessibility, and lecture capture is preferred. Experience with course development within a learning management system such as Moodle. Familiarity with both Windows and Apple operating systems is recommended. High level of expertise in desktop software environments (such as Microsoft Office Suite), web authoring tools, and other third-party software to support course management system applications is expected for a successful candidate for this position. Training, helpdesk or consultative experience required. Strong customer service background is a must, and any successful applicant will have a history of strong leadership as well as strong teamwork within previous workplace environments. Ability to collaborate with colleagues across administrative and faculty/staff levels in a team-oriented work environment.
