Essential Duties Summary
Additional responsibilities include supporting the Program Director in the program’s instructional, administrative and other functions; assessment and accreditation activities; program strategic planning; developing and implementing program policies and procedures; and performing other work as assigned.
They are encouraged to pursue continuing education in curriculum design, assessment, or evaluation annually. Participation in scholarly activities and professional events at a national level is also expected.
The Assistant Program Director is a full time, twelve-month position.
Required Qualifications
- A master’s degree from a genetic counseling/human genetics training program
- Board certification by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC)
- Three years of experience as a genetic counselor
- Prior experience in teaching and supervision of genetic counseling students is preferred
