Cytotechnologist – Anatomic Pathology/Cytology

A Cytotechnologist performs cytopathologic diagnosis to identify benign and malignant conditions. The role involves conducting a full range of quantitative and qualitative cytologic tests on various cell samples to detect cancer, infectious processes, and other cellular abnormalities. The main responsibility will include participation in cytology procedures and diagnosis of benign and malignant conditions with our cytopathologists. Experience with cytology procedures (Thyroid FNA, EUS, EBUS with rapid on site adequacy assessment by cytotechnologist) is highly preferred; Telecytology experience and Epic Beaker LIS experience would be an added bonus.CLICK HERE to learn more about the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center!

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Classify slides, records classification, and present slides with abnormal cell structures to pathologist for further examination
  • Stain and mount slides and examines human body cells to detect evidence of cancer or other diseased conditions
  • Prepare written cytopathologic diagnostic reports using recognized terminology, and make recommendations for further evaluation or treatment
  • Maintain cytotechnologist's screening workload statistics and other related data as required by regulatory agencies and laboratory manager

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three to five years in a cytology lab as a certified cytotechnologist
  • California Cytotechnologist license
  • Note: If candidate has less than three years of experience (ie new grad), would consider for Cytotechnologist I role (Pay Rate: $38.10 - $48.58 - $59.06)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $41.92 - $64.97 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
