Job Summary
Reporting to the Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for developing, establishing, and promoting collaborative partnerships with a diverse set of people and organizations providing oversight for University sponsored community engagement initiatives. This position will work to ensure programs and activities are consistent with the mission and goals of the University building reciprocal relationships within the community.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIPS: Identify, support, and maintain collaborative partnerships with a wide range of people and organizations to include (but not limited to) community groups, non-profits, non-governmental agencies, faith communities, businesses, schools, and service providers to identify and address shared goals in a context of mutual benefit and reciprocity.
VOLUNTEER ON-BOARDING ACTIVITIES: Responsible for proactive, consistent volunteer on-boarding activities to include background screening, badging, and orientation. Tracks volunteer hours, records, locations and assignments appropriately.
DATABASE MAINTENANCE: Maintain and improve database of community partnerships and contacts.
ENGAGEMENT OUTREACH: Work cooperatively with other departments to effectively plan and improve engagement and outreach methods.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT NEWSLETTER AND WEBSITE: Develop and manage Community Engagement newsletter and website content including adding new pages, updating existing content, optimizing images and media, and ensuring accuracy and relevance.
REPORTING: Collaborate internally and externally to coordinate, track, and report the impact of community engagement programming and campus service activities.
MARKETING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Promote and market special events and community engagement activities through print, broadcast, and social media in order to encourage maximum engagement.
OUTREACH: Actively coordinate and/or participate in appropriate Augusta University committees, task forces, and professional associations, and conferences.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AWARENESS: Work closely with leadership to plan and execute effective communications targeted at community and department partners in order to raise awareness and recognition for Community Engagement efforts and initiatives.
ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES: Assist with the production and promotion of major University-wide community-engagement initiatives including JagPulse adoption.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties/tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field including business, marketing, communications, child life, social work or human resources and one year of progressively responsible experience in volunteer services or similar role and/or coordinating volunteers and volunteer programs including prior event/program planning experience.
Required Experience
One plus years progressively responsible experience in community engagement or similar role developing and promoting collaborative partnerships and initiatives.
Prior event/program planning experience.
Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite of Programs and Canva.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
Expert level experience working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Prior Volgistics Database experience, medical center/children's hospital volunteer management experience and/or Special Events Planning and Logistical Experience

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Pay Grade: B6
Salary Minimum: $39,200 - $47,696
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Recruitment Period: 8/6/24 - Until Filled

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
