What You Will Achieve

Working with a dynamic team of procurement experts, you will play an important role in negotiating contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies. You will facilitate category management, purchase goods and services for ongoing operations and manage corporate services.

As a Manager, you will provide guidance to operational teams for managing procurement projects. Your planning skills will help in preparing forecasts for resource requirements, and providing areas of improvement for products, processes or services. Through your comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts and theories of this discipline, you will work towards advancing new concepts and methodologies. You will be able to take a leadership role to facilitate agreements between different teams.

How You Will Achieve It

• Lead the strategic procurement process as a strategic sourcing manager responsible for multiple categories, including GMP manufacturing of biologics, small molecules, and finished products. Co-develop and execute multi-year category strategies to meet business requirements.

• Form, lead and facilitate cross-functional teams as applicable to execute the procurement process and plans; enable supplier selection and decision process; lead / facilitate contract development, negotiation and execution process.

• Align negotiation strategies with internal stakeholders and the business units served.

• Develop appropriate risk management strategies to assure supply of Pfizer’s requirements.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support the procurement process.

• Support strategic sourcing efforts in other categories as needed, including, but not limited to, GMP raw materials, analytical testing, storage/logistics, and comparators/co-medications.

• Lead cross-functional teams in the identification and screening of potential new suppliers, and the development and issuance of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Actively manage RFP processes start-to-finish and engage with respondents to ensure clear understanding of requirements and completion of high-quality proposals

• Work within S2P and other Pfizer functions and departments to assist budget owners in development of operating budgets through effective communication of supplier pricing and related cost improvement initiatives

• Routinely scout opportunities; stay on top of the evolving supplier landscapes across GMP categories; develop and maintain up-to-date supplier databases.

• Benchmark industry best practices in the assigned spend areas and lead the adoption within Pfizer as applicable.

• Lead and/or participate on project teams as required or assigned.

• Continually evaluate and monitor market conditions and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

• Support Pfizer’s Diversity and Inclusion objectives as applicable to strategic category management within Procurement.

• B.S. (or equivalent) in business or a technical discipline. Master’s Degree desirable. • Key competencies and demonstrated skills include: demonstrated knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures; analytical and negotiation skills and techniques; management skills in assessing business issues; project management skills to oversee a multiplicity of tasks in a cross functional/site/divisional environment; management of major procurement projects both on a local and regional and basis; excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal interactions skills. • Demonstrated achievement of results including savings generation, improvements to supplier relationships, improvements in product quality and service delivery desired.

• Ability to travel.

• English fluency is required.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience?
  • Excellent understanding of the end to end procurement process, including category management, strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex, cross-functional activities
  • Understanding of analytical models and techniques
  • Strong negotiating techniques and knowledge of procurement procedures
  • Basic knowledge Ariba, System Application & Products eSourcing, and other system related activities
  • Good client engagement and customer relationship management skills
  • Articulate communicator with effective interpersonal skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Procurement experience in a comparable Blue chip organization and/ or customer service environment
