Job Description
Summary
A postdoctoral position in the Marshall lab will require an independent scientist to devise projects in collaboration with the PI, and carry out experiments to answer scientific questions in the field of interoception. This job will also include mentoring other scientists, analyzing data, writing grants and publications, and presenting work at conferences and lab meetings.
Job Duties
- Carriesout independent research agreed on with the PI.
- Devises research questions in collaboration with the PI.
- Carriesout experiments.
- Performs data analysis.
- Writes manuscripts, and mentors younger scientists and oversee some aspects of their experiments.
- Keepsdetailed notes, backing up data, handling mice in a mouse colony, and performing molecular biology, microscopy, physiology, and behavioral techniques.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Contributes to a positive lab environment and lab tasks, and will abide by the standards of responsible scientific conduct within the department, including following approved protocols for lab safety and animal handling.
