Summary
The Mustoe Lab in the Therapeutic Innovation Center (THINC) and Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology seeks a talented and ambitious individual to join the team. Technician will have an opportunity to work on high-impact projects focused on characterizing the structure and function of RNAs in healthy and diseased human cells. The technician be self-motivated, eager to read literature and independently implement new experimental techniques, and able to maintain a high-attention to detail.
Job Duties
- Performs mammalian cell culture.
- Performs complex biochemical procedures following established protocols for research projects.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigator.
- Participates in laboratory meetings and planning sessions.
- Helps maintain lab equipment.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by principal investigator.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Biochemistry, Biology, or related field.
- Prior experience with following techniques that includes PCR, mammalian cell culture, next-generation sequencing library preparation, RNA FISH, and familiarity with using the command line for data analysis will be a plus.
