Job OverviewThe Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences, James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy, at the University of Cincinnati seeks applicants for a faculty position in Biotherapeutics and Immunotherapy research at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor (rank commensurate with credentials).
Our research and graduate education programs span diverse aspects of multi-disciplinary research in Experimental Therapeutics and Biomembrane Sciences. The department is seeking to bolster its research related to biopharmaceuticals, which may include, but is not limited to mRNA, siRNA, monoclonal antibodies, antibody-drug conjugate with relevance to immunotherapies and targets therapies for cancer. This research will facilitate optimization of formulation and various delivery systems and contribute to translational research and precision medicine efforts of our Academic Health Center. Research areas that align with the focus programs in the division include neuropharmacology/neurotoxicology, cancer biology/cancer pharmacology and biomembranes/skin science. The College provides ample opportunities for collaborations with both basic and clinical programs, including the University of Cincinnati Gardner Neuroscience Institute and Neurobiology Research Center as well as the Cancer and cell biology program.
Essential Functions
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Develop/maintain a competitive, externally-funded research program in their area of expertise;
Teach graduate and professional education courses in the areas of biotherapeutics and drug delivery for the MS/PhD and PharmD programs;
Establish research collaborations with agencies and investigators at UC and in the industry;
Provide service to the college and university such as on committees and peer-review panels/study sections.
Minimum Requirements
Prior to the effective date of appointment, all of the following are required:
MD or PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field.
At least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in an area related to biotherapeutics; and
At least 2 peer-reviewed publications as first author in a related research area.
To be considered at the rank of Associate, in addition to the above, all of the following are required prior to the effective date of appointment.
Experience teaching at least one graduate level course in a related area.
Evidence of prior extramural funding.
