Job DescriptionThe project manager will lead the implementation of technology solutions and process improvements to support human resources operations across the university. This role requires a strong understanding of HR functions such as recruiting, staffing, classification, compensation, and employee relations. The project manager will collaborate with technical teams and subject matter experts to identify user needs and ensure that the implemented solutions align with business requirements. Additionally, they will manage project teams and lead process improvement initiatives to drive continuous enhancements in human resources practices at Virginia Tech.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in relevant field, such as human resources, business administration, management, etc., or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Proven experience as a project manager
• Demonstrated experience with the Microsoft Office suite
• Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms to all levels of management, including senior leaders
• Strong organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail
