About This Role:The Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking applicants for an Applications Developer II. This position will help with application development and maintenance. Support desktop, web and mobile applications. Perform back-end web development of software applications. Perform design and development of applications needed for the College, the Veterinary Health Center and the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. Work with other IT team members to design and develop online applications needed for the CVM. Gather project requirements, translate to application features and develop technical documentation for the projects involved. Write API (application programming interfaces). Perform web/mobile design and development. Use TOAD for Oracle, MySQL, Oracle SQL Developer to design database schemas and develop stored procedures and write SQL queries/view for efficient data retrieval and storage; use Java/JSP, C#/ASP.net MVC, Web API to design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications and use JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, Java Spring, Angular, and CSS for data persistence and retrieval; use Oracle Java, Hibernate ORM, jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, PHP and other programming languages to develop and write extensible, scalable, and testable code keeping in mind performance requirements of a project; modify existing software to correct errors allow it to adapt to new hardware, and to improve performance.
Worksite Options:
This position is required to be performed on-site. Work is performed on employer premises or designated assignment location.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field
Ability to work with minimum supervision and as a team; project management, balancing multiple projects; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Experience in relational database management; programming languages (C#, ASP.net, Java, JavaScript, SQL, HTML, PHP: and the following frameworks: .NET, ASP.net MVC, Java Spring, JQuery, Angular, and mobile.
Other Requirements:
The College of Veterinary Medicine requires that new hires must obtain a Kansas license as a Veterinary Technician within 6 months of employment. Advancing staff must have obtained their Kansas license as a Veterinary Technician prior to advancement.
