KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates and maintains a data dictionary and meta data.
Supports efforts to ensure that data standards are developed and maintained.
Ensures that the uses of data through reports and queries are accurate.
Supports business and system re-engineering and architecture development to define future data needs.
Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to databases by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs.
Performs other related duties as required.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:
Develops automated quality control procedures to assess quality of data and provides reports to data owners.
Works effectively within a group setting in areas of design of data collection database management, analysis of data, and creation of reports and dashboards.
Develops and performs appropriate analyses.
Provides explanations of analysis methods, assumptions made, and assists in interpretation of results and implications therein.
Serves as an organizational consultant on matters relating to analytical pipelines by providing expertise to assist users in meeting their needs
Documents methods and results through development and maintenance of standard documentation artifacts including data dictionaries, standard operating procedures and analysis methodology descriptions.
Works with onsite and remote counterparts to coordinate consistent implementation of data quality control measures and provision of access to the central data repositories.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree and one year of experience in data analysis, statistics, or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master's degree in bioinformatics, computer engineering or IT-based discipline; some student-related experience gained through formal Master's-level academic training.
Proficiency in using Python, Linux command line, computational clusters or cloud environments is desirable.
Excellent data management, programming, and communication skills are required.
NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
