What Your Job Will Be Like:
The Enterprise Network Services organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Solutions Architect to collaborate with multiple technical areas across IT.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Design, deploy, operate, maintain enterprise network services and traffic controls
- Work with SNL Corporate networks, remote SNL, business partner networks, and emerging purpose-built enclaves
- Partner with Cyber Security and Networking teams to architect and engineer custom design network flow and behavior solutions
- Identify and fix workflow, traffic, and service impacts
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
$109,300 - $217,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field plus 5 years of experience, or equivalent (AS + 9 years or no degree + 13 years)
- Experience with Campus Networking
- Experience designing, documenting, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructures
- Experience interpreting new business requirements and proposing suitable architecture changes
- Experience with LAN/WAN equipment (routers, switches and protocol analyzers)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire:
- Experience of network equipment from various vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Extreme, Palo Alto and Juniper
- Experience with:
- Security Implementation
- Security Devices
- Packet Analysis and Advanced Troubleshooting
- Network Automation
- Experience with protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTPS, IPSec, SNMP, VXLAN and other related protocols
- Proficient with network automation (Ansible, Python, YAML, and GitLab)
- IT Service Management, Network and Project Management Certifications (such as CCNP, ITIL Foundations, PMP, etc.)
- An active DOE Q clearance or equivalent

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
