DescriptionThe University of North Alabama’s Anderson College of Nursing & Health Professions (ACONHP) is seeking qualified candidates for full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor for the nursing programs. Salary and rank will be based on qualifications of the successful candidate. Essential Job Duties
Successful candidates for this position will be expected to teach 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework per semester; provide clinical supervision of students; recruit and advise students; engage in professional service; engage in service to the department, college, and university; engage in scholarship; participate in curriculum and course development activities within the department and college; maintain office hours in accordance with university policy; have the ability to teach within the instructional areas of medical/surgical nursing, critical care, nutrition, and other undergraduate courses; and to perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
The minimum qualifications for this position include a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution is required; a terminal degree is preferred; five years of clinical practice is required; an unencumbered nursing license for the State of Alabama, or the ability to obtain such, is required; a family nurse practitioner or psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner certification is preferred; three years of classroom or clinical teaching experience in an accredited registered nursing program or higher degree nursing program is preferred; and online teaching experience and/or willingness to teach online courses is preferred. Applicants with only the master’s degree will be eligible for a non-tenure-track appointment at the rank of Lecturer until such time as the terminal degree is obtained.

Official transcripts must be sent directly to HR from the issuing school via email or postal mail to be considered official. Transcripts with a designation of “Issued to Student”, or with the student name listed as the recipient will not be considered official. Official transcripts will be required of the successful candidate prior to the start date of the appointment, but unofficial copies will be accepted for the application process.
