The primary responsibility of this role is to provide a welcoming and safe environment by assisting patients, guests, and colleagues with wayfinding, resources, and minimal transport. The role involves conducting health screenings, including temperature checks and personal travel inquiries, while adhering to health and safety protocols such as personal protective equipment and social distancing. The individual will monitor assigned entrances and exits, direct staff and visitors post-screening, and coordinate resources efficiently. Additional duties include transporting patients, addressing safety and housekeeping concerns, maintaining confidentiality, and ensuring satisfaction by actively listening and responding to requests. The role also requires adherence to hospital safety protocols, including safe lifting techniques, and performing other duties as assigned.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Assisting and Guiding:
    • Meet and greet patients, guests, and colleagues.
    • Provide directions and wayfinding assistance.
    • Help with minimal patient transport.
  • Logistical Support:
    • Coordinate multiple resources promptly.
    • Monitor door entrances and exits.
    • Transport patients between departments.
    • Perform regular checks in waiting areas to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Customer Service:
    • Ensure patient and visitor satisfaction by listening and responding to needs.
    • Escalate issues when necessary.
    • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be comfortable standing, walking, and wheeling patients for up to 8 hours.
  • Safety and Security:
    • Follow hospital safety and security procedures.
    • Practice preventative safety, including safe lifting techniques.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Education:
    • High School Diploma
  • Preferred Experience:
    • 2 Years of customer service (hospital experience preferably)
  • Additional information:
    • Monday -Friday: 7:00AM-3:30PM, Holidays included(excluding COH supported Holidays)

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $20.60 - $24.72 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
