Job Description
This position ensures compliance with Sarah Lawrence College fleet safety policies and procedures. The Fleet Compliance Coordinator will oversee preventative basic maintenance for vehicles and related equipment, maintain service records and administer standardized road tests.
Essential Duties Summary
- Drive 7-passenger, 15-passenger, pick-up and sedans
- Fuel vehicles
- Occasional road side assistance
Preventative Maintenance
- Bi-weekly inspections of interior and exterior components for the student fleet
- Schedule fleet maintenance and repairs
- Escalate issues, concerns regarding drivers and fleet to Director of Campus Operations and Auxiliary Services
- Work with external vendors, including mechanics
- Maintain repair and service records to assist with budgeting, schedules and fleet progress
- Monitor fuel levels
Proctor
- Administer a comprehensive, standardized road test to new and existing van drivers
- Oversee written test
- Exercise best judgment in accordance with Sarah Lawrence College van driver criteria for eligibility
- Training will be provided upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma or GED
- Ability to clearly and calmly communicate driving directions, corrective driving actions and ensure a safe and comfortable learn to drive environment.
- Excellent, organization and communication skills with a keen sense of detail and follow-up
- High degree of initiative and ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- Demonstrate commitment to promoting a diverse, equitable and inclusive environment for all members of our community
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, EXCEL, and Word.
- Eligible to be a Sarah Lawrence van driver (19 years of age, clean valid US license, driving for a minimum of two years with a license)
