Job Summary:The Division of Continuing Studies (DCS) at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is expanding its use of Salesforce to support new initiatives, including the implementation of a new noncredit registration system. We are seeking a Salesforce Admin/Developer to join our CRM team and help lead the transition to a Blackthorn-based Salesforce solution for noncredit course and conference registration. This is an exciting opportunity to be the CRM team's first developer, bringing technical expertise to enhance our Salesforce capabilities.
In addition to this first project, the role may contribute to other Salesforce initiatives across DCS. You will collaborate with stakeholders to configure, develop, and support Salesforce solutions that enhance the learner experience and meet the evolving business needs of DCS programs.
Certification as a Salesforce Administrator is expected within 3 months of hire.
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, tests, debugs, operates, and troubleshoots software and applications to support information technology business operations.
30% Reviews application design specifications, codes new applications, and makes enhancements to existing applications
5% Tests and debugs programs, and prepares systems test data
10% Prepares program documentation and training requirements
10% Develops or modifies technical specifications for moderately-complex projects using disciplined software development practices
5% Prepares detailed system design specifications for system integration and upgrades
15% Maintains and troubleshoots applications, systems, or websites
5% Implements data structure and systems performance strategies
10% Designs, maintains, and monitors data integration configurations
10% Provides system administrator support, including user management/security, configuration changes, data management, and user support

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of Salesforce platform capabilities, including declarative configuration, security, and data management, with a proven ability to design and implement scalable Salesforce-based solutions.
- 2+ years of experience as a software developer, including writing custom code and scripts, developing automation processes, and managing the development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Salesforce Platform Developer 1 Certification
- Salesforce Administrator Certification
- 2+ years of experience with Salesforce development
- Experience integrating Salesforce with other systems using APIs or middleware (e.g. Informatica, MuleSoft)
- Experience with administrator-level responsibilities in enterprise software systems
- Experience as an employee of a large institution of higher education working with a variety of institutional stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication
