Job Summary
Responsible for the overall development and Implementation of strength, speed, and conditioning programs for all Augusta University athletic teams. Full-time, 12-month position.
Responsibilities
Duties include but are not limited to:
DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION: Responsible for the development and implementation for sport-specific athletic performance programs that entail the development of muscular strength, explosive power and speed, multi-directional agility, and conditioning of all sports.
EVALUATION: Evaluate all incoming student-athletes on an annual basis to determine the level of training and safety.
EDUCATE: Consistently educate on proper sports nutrition/hydration/physical recovery strategies and offer sports nutritional counseling to all student-athletes.
SCHEDULING: Responsible for scheduling and supervision of team training sessions, and instruction of student-athletes on proper technique, with a primary focus on reducing non-contract sports-related injuries and maximizing competitive performance.
COACH INTERACTION: Interact and correspond with head coaches regarding sport-specific programs designed for their teams and report performance progress to student-athletes and head coaches.
COMMUNICATION AND ASSISTANCE: Communicate with and assist the sports medicine staff and administrators with issues related to overall student-athlete wellness, including rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries as needed.
OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with three (3) years of experience training athletes in the areas of strength, conditioning, and agility along with NSCA (CSCS or CSCCA (SCCC) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
A graduate degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and customer service skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday-Friday (work outside normal business hours may be required)

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
