The Business Development Capture Program Manager has a strong background in procurement processes, specifically in identification, capture, business development, and management of Requests for Proposals (RFPs). This position leads development and implementation of capture for strategic, high value RFPs and grant-funded opportunities aligned with focus areas of Augusta Universities colleges and schools. The position will build consensus among key internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute capture/business plans through phases of the capture and proposal process. This position will develop, organize, and execute significant activities, including AU teams.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) MANAGEMENT: Identify/oversee Request for Proposals (RFPs) and grand-funded proposal opportunities as an end-to-end process of proposal and business development (from identifying funding opportunities to award/non-award). Coordinate with AU faculty researchers, scientists, and experts from various disciplines to assist crafting comprehensive and competitive proposals. Ensure proposals meet all requirements and deadlines set by funding agencies/industry.
BUISINESS DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY: Collaborate with senior leadership to determine procurement needs, forecast budget requirements, and identify business development capture opportunities. Strategically identify and pursue both public and private contract opportunities that align with AU's strategic plan.
STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to champion contribution and participation across AU to understand their needs, provide guidance on business development campus processes, and ensure alignment with strategic goals. Collaborate closely with Executive Director of Corporate Relations to capitalize on relationships with external stakeholders, including industry, other universities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and regulatory bodies to enhance procurement opportunities and stay informed about industry trends and teaming opportunities. Through Corporate Relations, identify opportunities for teaming agreements and strategic partnerships with industry, government agencies, and other research institutions to enhance contract (fee-for-service) and research capabilities, as well as other funding opportunities.
AWARENESS, TRAINING AND EDUCATION: Provide training and guidance in AU faculty and staff on business development capture opportunities, procedures, and requirements, ensuring awareness across the institution.
OTHER DUTIES: Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and three years of applicable experience.
OR
High School, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization with five years of related experience and two related industry certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as Program Management Professional (PMP) or Industry /Business Development Certification
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of the federal, state, and local RFP requirements.
Proven experience in managing contracts including Cost Plus, Firm Fixed Price, Labor Hour, etc.
Familiarity with non-profit organizations and their unique procurement attributes and requirements with a research university enterprise setting.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
ABILITIES
Ability to navigate complex procurement systems and provide strategic solutions.
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and organized documentation through proficiencies in procurement software packages and platforms, contract management systems, and the MS Office Suite.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B13
Salary: Minimum $68,500/annual
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum midpoint) of the position.
