Job Summary
This Research Project Coordinator position is designed to assist in administrative and technical work in support of cancer prevention programming and research initiatives. This person will lead in planning, implementation, data collection, data entry and careful, exact documentation within the contract/grant and institutional guidelines. The position will be responsible for day-to-day oversight of the project including staff assignments, scheduling of all research related activities, Institutional Review Board regulatory files and required sponsor progress reports. The position will include work with a contract/grant to provide training and education in faith-based and community sites on risks of breast, multiple myeloma and prostate cancers and encourage screenings in those eligible and encourage smoking cessation in current smokers. The grant uses the train-the-trainer approach and trains community health workers (CHWs) to deliver the education. Data is also obtained on screening behaviors, perceptions and attitudes toward breast, multiple myeloma and prostate cancer. Goals are to improve early detection and improve health outcomes related to these three cancers.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain project timeline with precision by working with other team members and the community members; Recruit 20 church/community sites per project protocol; Weekly follow-up with research sites and site navigators; Assist group leaders with sessions; Maintain outstanding relationships with community partners; Attend meetings with community partners; Offer study participation and coordinate enrolling 600 research participants.
- Prepare, submit and maintain all IRB regulatory files per institutional guidelines; Obtain informed consent; Data collection, entry and quality control; Maintain study subject files.
- Attend staff trainings and research meetings. Participate in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principals.
- Perform all other job-related duties/tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of two years of experience OR Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and five years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in human research setting, cancer prevention programs, data entry and collection and Microsoft Office. Experience in a research, Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP), clinical or community setting particularly clinical trials research or the field of prevention.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Pay Grade: B12
Salary Minimum: $62,300 - $68,640
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
Recruitment Period: 8/1/24 - Until Filled
