Job Description
Summary
The Research Administration Associate will handle pre-award and/or post award activities and program activities for the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Cancer Center and Clinical Research Office. This includes planning, execution, and coordination and management of all grant related submissions for the Cancer Center. The main goal of this position is to provide contract financial support and coordinate all grant related activities to support Clinical Research Office (CRO) level projects.
This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Employees with CRA certification are eligible for certification pay.
Job Duties
- Providesupport to the Sr Research Administrative Associates by coordinating pre-award and/or post award activities and tasks.
- Prepare contract and subcontract submissions internally (BRAIN) and externally (Sponsor Sites).
- Review and analyze current protocols, faculty-staff communication, and quality of the submission process.
- Overseepost award processing, including verification and quality control of data entry.
- Preparebudget allocation for grant/contract submission.
- Reviewresearch contracts and agreements with industry and academic institutions.
- Contribute to the preparation of budgets for grant/contract quarterly/biannual/annual reporting purposes.
- Coordinatethorough, but timely, review and approval of grant applications/contracts and associated budgets.
- Certifydata in electronic proposal system-Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN).
- Preparefinancial reports using BRAIN data and contract tracking data.
- Presentinformation related to grants and contracts to faculty, students, and staff.
- Point of contact for general grants and contracts related questions and transactions.
- Review and update documentation pertinent to grants, including application guidelines, contracts, invoices, close-out financial reports, etc.
- Work with the Principal Investigator and Grants and Contracts team to open, close, and monitor, grant, subcontract, and unrestricted and pending accounts.
- Track documentation, upload documents, and communicate with central departments to troubleshoot blocked invoices and Purchase Orders.
- Maintain records for each grant or account, including applications, communication with sponsor, etc.
- Coordinate additional projects and programs related to the grant and Principal Investigator.
- Establish and productive contributor; continuously improves on processes and systems that may require understanding of a broader set of issues or other job areas.
- Performother job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience multi-tasking and tracking of multiple contract and subcontract agreement/accounts as well as have knowledge in financial grant knowledge.
- Should be well organized, able to troubleshoot issues, independent worker, and detailed oriented.
- Experience working in Excel and great written communication skills.
