Summary
The lab is looking to hire a Research Technician II to work on projects related to cholesterol biosynthesis in the intestine and liver-directed genome editing. This technician will support the research efforts of the lab by producing Adeno-Associated Viral vectors and performing experiments in mouse models. The technician will have a Bachelor's degree in a basic science discipline, and have some background with molecular biology tools.
Job Duties
- Producesviral vectors on a weekly basis to support ongoing studies in the lab.
- Performs basic mouse husbandry that includesgenotyping, colony maintenance and performing experiments.
- Prepares, executes, and documents experiments thatincludes searching the literature and analyzing data.
- Orderslaboratory supplies and equipment.
- Ensuresclean and organized work environment.
- Keep records of safety trainings for the lab.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.S. in biochemistry, molecular biology, bioengineering, chemistry, or a related discipline. Must be organized and able to work as a member of a larger team.
- Has strong work ethic and effective time management.
