The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is seeking an Advanced Practicing Provider for its Generalist Division. Candidates should have an interest in women’s midlife care and academic medicine. This position will be 100% clinical billable and located on the West Chester Medical Campus. Primary responsibilities include working collaboratively with OB/GYN generalist physicians and providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients.
Essential Functions
Working collaboratively with OB/GYN generalist physicians and providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients.
Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice.
Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
Participate in research and development projects for the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students, residents and medical students.
Perform history and physical examinations in the outpatient setting; write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries.
Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
Maintain accurate medical records, and complete in a timely fashion per department standards.
Participate in basic science and clinical research projects conducted by supervising physician.
Seek the consult of supervising physicians when needed and participate in case/chart review.
Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
Complete all trainings in a timely fashion.

Minimum Requirements
Nurse Practitioners:
Required Education
Master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority.
Active Board Certification in appropriate nursing specialty.
Required Experience
Three (3) years nursing experience.
Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.

Physician’s Assistants:
Required Education
Master's Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Required Trainings/Certifications
Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority.
Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
Required Experience
Minimum of one (1) year experience is required.
Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
