ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:The College of Business consists of 5 academic units. The Department of Management & Organization is one of the departments. The department has approximately 18 faculty, one department chair, one office manager, and one half-time OPS (student or non-student).
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Academic Services Administrator is responsible for the administrative oversight for Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences. This position performs administrative functions directly related the departmental academic programs, grants, human resources and overall operations of the department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Active engagement in the strategic planning activities of the department and the implementation of those plans. Assist with all departmental events, such as guest speakers, Big Data Day, Advisory Board Meetings, Bootcamps. Involvement to include but not limited to bookings, travel agendas, reservations, setup, breakdown.
Responsible for faculty recruitment efforts, including but not limited to, scheduling candidate visits, setting search committee meetings, follow USF recruitment policy and guidelines. Attend meetings, prepare minutes, monitor technology, prepares documents for committees as requested. Assist with gathering candidates documents for hiring process. Submit and maintain transcript programs and Assurance of Learning assessments.
Backup to Office Manager for student employment hire requests.
Assist with scheduling of classes.
Track student data and prepare reports to detect problems and opportunities. Manage special projects and analysis including institutional effectiveness plans, development of unit metrics, and specialized research related to the function of the department.
Collaborate with College Marketing team on print and online presence of all department programs and activities. Perform other administrative and analytical duties supporting the academic mission of the department, college, or unit as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Master's degree in education or a field of study related to the academic program, or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in those same fields with a minimum of two years of experience.
FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.
PREFERRED:
Prior experience with university systems and procedures.
Expertise in Business software such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word.
Expertise in design software such as InDesign and Illustrator.
Creativity and ability to manage and deal with an energetic, fast moving and innovative team.
