Job Description
Essential Functions:- Assist with the management of the Handshake database: approving employer access requests, reviewing and approving job postings and events, running reports, and performing data entry and management tasks.
- Assist with the coordination and management of employer information sessions.
- Greet guests, manage student check-in, and represent CDS to external guests and fellow students.
- Compile attendance lists and follow up with employers after each event.
- Respond to routine requests from employers via phone or email regarding how to access Handshake to post jobs or register for events.
- Conduct periodic phone and email outreach to employers with reminders regarding career fair, on-campus interviews, or other recruiting events.
- Create / Update employer marketing materials including flyers, social media graphics, promotional emails, and website content as directed.
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and promotion of our Career Fair and other signature events.
- Research and identify new employment and co-op opportunities for NJIT students, and assist in coordinating subsequent outreach.
- Attend Employer Relations weekly team meetings and assist with note-taking and tracking of action items.
- Provide general administrative support to the CDS office as needed.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Working towards a MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or related field.
- At least one year of experience working in the IT field including data management and/or programming.
- Microsoft Office including advanced Excel and Access.
- Basic knowledge of Tableau or Power BI for data visualization.
- Preferred knowledge of Drupal, Handshake, and basic hardware/software installation.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
