POSITION SUMMARY:
The Application Developer I will work on general AI projects., develop chatbots applications. This position will work with multiple teams across USF IT and students within Research Technology, and the AVC to aid in the development and testing of new and existing chatbots and AI projects. Students will assist with initial project creation, testing, and subsequent improvements. This position requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to learn new tools and applications quickly as the field of AI is changing rapidly.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Development of chatbots in the Microsoft Copilot Studio Platform, and AI projects utilizing a variety of AI tools. This process includes configuration of the chatbot, creating prompts, working with data, as well as assisting with workflows and conversational features. This function also includes review of project analytics, and subsequent refactoring of appropriate systems.
Work with team of students to aid in the development and testing of new and existing AI project. Student teams will assist with creation, testing, and subsequent improvements to the projects. This position will work with the Lead Developer (Applications Developer II or III) as well as their supervisor to complete tasks and coordinate team and project functions.
Develop AI projects that may include automation, predictions, and utilizing APIs and web / cloud services. Assist in the development of AI.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and IT certification OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1-year relevant work experience OR
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training
PREFERRED:
Computer science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training and two years of IT related work experience; or a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and three years of IT related work experience, OR a Master's degree and one year of IT related work experience, OR a combination of six years of IT related work experience and validated training. Preparation for a relevant IT certification is considered to be related training.
