osition SummaryThis position reports to the Director of University Business Systems and is responsible for the execution of all system-related activities, including project definition, work plan development, system design, programming, and implementation of application projects as well as overall system responsibility for an assigned area and third-party applications. This position will oversee a variety of existing applications and would be a main point of contact for end users within assigned areas. The incumbent collaborates with a small team of developers to strive towards making end users highly productive.

Principal Accountabilities
System Integrity: Effectively supporting existing applications; high attention to detail.
Technical Support: Effectively developing and maintaining assigned software; making knowledgeable recommendations to management regarding potential application improvements.
Systems Analysis and Problem Solving: Ensuring that the most effective and efficient methods are selected for each application; proposing effective non-technical solutions (business processes) where applicable using Six Sigma strategies. Strong understanding of the system development lifecycle.
Programming: Developing effective programs based on specifications and descriptions of proposed programs; reviewing all programs to ensure conformity to department standards and program/system usefulness.
User Support: Ensuring close communication with users and a working knowledge of all pertinent aspects of the internal operations of each office surveyed.
Documentation: Effectively and efficiently completing IS department forms, documentations, and specifications in accordance with IS department standards and assigned responsibilities.
Staff Responsibilities: Cooperating with and learning from all IS staff members.
Performing other duties as assigned.
This is a hybrid position, providing the ability to work remotely up to 2 days a week after an initial 90-day new hire period. Due to the nature of this position, there will be times when you would be expected to work outside of normal business hours due to system validation after upgrades, application support, etc.

Qualifications
Fully developed software design and programming skills, coding in Oracle’s PL/SQL and/or Microsoft SQL/T-SQL required
CRM experience on Microsoft Dynamics 365 a plus
Coding for web application development required
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
7 – 10 years’ experience in application and software development
Proven ability to lead and guide other developers on projects
Higher education and Ellucian Banner experience a plus
Ability to work independently.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to write clear and concise documentation required
