Job SummaryThe Biology Department at Morgan State University seeks a dynamic and energetic Assistant / Associate Professor, tenure-stream, with a strong interest in research and teaching. Faculty at this department participate in the interdisciplinary Center for Urban Health Disparities and Innovations https:// www.morgan.edu/rcmi and the newly founded Center for Brain Health. The university offers cutting-edge core laboratory facilities in the areas of cellular/ molecular biology as well as a brand new OLAW-certified vivarium.

• Establish an independent externally funded research program
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in their research team
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the department
• Obtain external grant to fund their research
• Publish papers
• Train postdocs, technicians, graduate and undergraduate students
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
• Assistant / Associate Professor, tenure-stream, with a strong interest in both research and teaching
• Research strength can be across various biomedical subdisciplines; however, the successfully demonstrated background is in gross anatomy.
• Applicants must demonstrate research accomplishments with a strong trajectory of peer-reviewed publications and potential for external funding.

Required Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate must have completed a Ph.D. from an accredited college or university or MD/DO.
Other Preferences for Consideration
Teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate-level courses is highly desirable.
A background in gross anatomy and or physiology is also desirable.
