The Baumel-Alterzon Lab in the Arthur Riggs Diabetes & Metabolism Research Institute, within the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope, is looking for a highly motivated and team-science minded Postdoctoral Fellow.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Study the importance of redox regulation in the expansion and differentiation of pancreatic beta-cells, aiming to identify therapeutic targets for beta-cell regeneration in diabetes.
  • Research diabetic mouse models, primary islets, and stem cell-derived islets, utilizing techniques such as fluorescence microscopy, proteomics, RNAseq, CRISPR-Cas9, and animal model characterization.
  • Be exposed to cutting-edge science and collaboration with world-class clinical and research faculty.

Your qualifications should include:

  • A Ph.D. in life sciences, biomedical sciences, or a related discipline is required.
  • Prior experience with animal work and molecular biology is essential, and experience in proteomics is a plus.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $34.00 - $37.55 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
